CIM in 2025
It has been an exciting year for CIM in 2025, but Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues, inflation and drought has wreaked havoc for our ministries in Ghana and Togo. Our finances have improved considerably since 2024, but we continue to be without an official administrative assistant and our Togo ministries are still on hold.
With the war continuing in Ukraine, we have not been able to travel there officially. Travel insurance can not be obtained and as soon as you cross the border into Ukraine, life insurance becomes void for one is knowingly and willingly going into a war zone. Though we continue to support the ministries of House of Mercy, we have also started our Roma Ministries in Serbia and North Macedonia based on exploratory trips in 2019 to Serbia and 2024 to North Macedonia. From mid-September to early October, a STM team comprised of 4 members including myself visited Pastor Miki in Serbia and Pastor Edijan in North Macedonia. In Serbia, we did ministry mainly in the Jagodina and Leskovac areas with Pastor Miki. In Macedonia, our ministry is based mainly in Prilep (where Pastor Edijan is stationed) and Bitola, though we did travel to most parts of the country to meet with other Roma pastors and leaders from the Evangelical Church of North Macedonia. During the North Macedonian portion of our trip, we need to also acknowledge Pastor Dragan, who not only was our driver but our translator. He was with us the entire portion of the trip, and a huge part of our team. Overall, it was a very successful trip as relationships were renewed and we had many opportunities to share the Word and encourage fellow believers.

The economy and inflation continue to affect our ministries in Ghana. Most of the pastors and teachers that we support there has to rely on farming to feed their families. Janice, Enoch, and Lucy returned to Canada from early June to early October for a 4-month home assignment. One of the goals was to visit different churches across Canada to raise awareness and support. Most of their time was spent in Calgary and Vancouver with a visit to Toronto as well. In Toronto, we were able to connect with a Ghanaian church who seemed very interested in our ministries.

Currently we are supporting 10 pastors and 3 missions schools in Ghana and a ministry worker and 5 Roma pastors in Ukraine. We pray for donors to help to adopt more of these ministries.
I also spent nearly a month in Australia. CIM Australia flies me there every two years to update and promote our ministries. This year I visited 7 different churches, sharing in their Sunday worships, prayer meetings, and mission nights. I also met with various pastoral and mission boards. My visits to Australia have been very beneficial as we solidify our partnership and build bonds between CIM Canada and CIM Australia. CIM Canada planted CIM Australia for the purpose of cross-cultural missions.

We will continue our emphasis on cross-cultural missions. We have always placed an importance on the training and support of local pastors by sending pastors to teach in Bible school settings, supporting local pastors through scholarships and helping to finance Bible School training courses. Our emphasis will be in the training of these pastors and teachers through various funds and teaching opportunities online through platforms like Zoom.
We welcome Rev. Doug Wong to be our chairman of the board in 2026, and thank Rev. Karen Wong and Rev. Joel Uong for their faithful service as their terms ended at the conclusion of 2025.
We look forward to 2026 to see how God will work through us. There are many uncertainties, but one thing never changes. God is in control and for that, we give praise.
A STM trip to Ghana is tentatively scheduled for July 12-28, 2026. If you are interested in applying or want more information, please email us at contact@cimcanada.org

Pray With Us:
Please continue to pray for peace in Ukraine. The invasion rages on and innocent lives are lost each day. Pray for House of Mercy as they take care of refugees, physically and spiritually. Pray for peace talks and for a ceasefire. There has been much confusion regarding this process. Through it all, people in the Roma villages are still getting baptized and dedicating their lives to Jesus. The challenge for the churches is that many young men are fleeing the country.
Pray for the pastors and teachers that we support in Ghana. Pray for fruitful ministry and God’s provision for each pastor’s family needs. Pray for Pastor Simon in the Tinjase area as he has suffered a relapse from a stroke and can not talk right now. Pray for his elders who have been taking care of him. Unfortunately, two of them were in a motorcycle accident and were injured.
Pray for Janice as she continues with her ministry as our International Worker in Ghana. Pray for campus ministry missions outreach in January which may be delayed. Pray for their family’s future move and plans in ministry and family life.
Pray for the search for new board of directors for 2026.
Pray for the finances of CIM Ministries. The economic situation in Canada may become very unstable with the uncertainty of a tariff trade war with the United States resulting possibly with less donors. Pray for new donors and a healthy general fund to run our ministries. Praise God that our financial situation has improved over the last year. In order to run our ministries effectively, we are currently seeking monthly donors. We encourage donors to give to our General Fund so we can distribute the funds where the needs are the greatest. Click here to donate.
Pray for CIM USA as they are still looking for an Executive Director and Director of Ministry.
Pray for healing and the immunotherapy treatments for Pastor Isaac as he has been diagnosed with colon cancer spreading now to his liver.
