Five brothers and sisters from our CIM Canada family went to Kpandai, Bimbilla, Nyankpala, Wa, Yeji, Kintampo and Accra. This team visited village schools, conducted workshops with teachers, shared Bible stories with students and played soccer with them. They also visited church planters and missionaries, sharing and encouraging each other as well as exploring future ministry opportunities in new areas of Ghana. Leaders from CIM and ECG also met with each other to review and discuss various issues of the ministries which we are partnering with each other.
Our Togo Ministry Director, Pastor Matthieu, spent a month in Togo during this trip. He visited homes, churches and church planting sites, did evangelism and teaching in Lome, Zanguera, Atakpame, Imoussa and Anie. He met with church planters/leaders, brothers and sisters as well as non-believers to share, pray and encourage each other. He also shared on radio and provided trainings to church planters/leaders and church youths.
A team of seven from Bethel Chinese Christian MB Church in Vancouver led by Rev. Wing Wong plus Rev. Isaac Quan visited Kpandai, Mwonbura and the CIM supported church plants in Salaga and Yeji. The team encouraged the local pastors, did evangelism and visitations in the villages, visited our village schools in Yeji and Mwonbura, led Sunday School and preached in worship services. The team experienced God’s work in very powerful ways and all have expressed an interest to go back.
A team of nine composed of members from Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto visited the CIM supported village schools in Yeji, Subrini, and Mwonbura. The main purpose of this trip was to conduct teacher workshops at the schools. The team also ran two evangelistic soccer tournaments in Yeji and Bimbilla, led Sunday worship and Sunday School, led a mini VBS, and participated in visitations. A number of the team members had been in Ghana before on CIM STM trips so it was a home coming of sorts. The team was led by Rev. Isaac Quan.
Three STM teams were cancelled due to the Ebola epidemic concern in West Africa.
