COVID-19 Update – March 2020

To our supporters at CIM Canada,

In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to keep you all informed about how CIM Canada will be responding and adjusting our ministries ahead.

After much thought and prayer, CIM Canada has decided to postpone all STM mission trips this summer for the safety and wellbeing of our staff and short-term team members.

We understand the growing concern from churches and individuals is spreading rapidly and at this time of writing, there have been over 130,000 confirmed cases and close to 5,000 deaths worldwide. In Canada, there are over 140 confirmed cases to date. Most sports events around the globe have been suspended. Schools are being closed down. People are put into self-quarantine, including our Prime Minister. We understand that all these measures are to help minimize the current spread of COVID-19 locally and globally, “flatten the curve”, and prevent overwhelming our healthcare systems.

With short-term mission trips, our teams would need to travel on long haul flights and cross multiple international borders.  We want to take every precaution to keep our team healthy. We will continue to pray for God’s provision and guidance during this crisis and work with the organizations and staff we are partnering with overseas.

We ask for your continual support during this time.  Prayer is of utmost importance as we lift our concerns to the Lord.

May God bless you with His peace,

Isaac Quan (Executive Director)
