Happy New Year!!

Greetings from CIM Canada. As we embark on a new year, I would like to reflect back on 2014 and share how God has blessed us and used us over the last 12 months in Ghana. Each year is a little different, but God is always faithful, and as a result, lives are turned over to Him, and people continue to serve Him.

It has been an eventful year serving as the Ministry Director for Ghana. Though the interest is still high in going to Ghana, because of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, we had to postpone 3 STM teams that were supposed to make trips in August. This was a precautionary step as currently there is no known confirmed Ebola cases in Ghana. Many of the STMers that were planning to travel were disappointed but understand the reasons for the postponement. They are waiting on God’s timing on when they can travel. CIM Canada continues to monitor the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and is very confident that STM teams will be travelling there soon again.

In 2014, CIM sent 3 STM teams to Ghana, composed of 22 STMers from around the world. I had the privilege of being on all 3 of those teams. Other than the 3 teams that had their August trip postponed, there were more individuals that were interested, but for various reasons, could not go and deferred their trip to a later date. Through each of the trips I have been on this year, the Lord continues to bless and teach me, not only through the locals but each team member as well.

The teams that went this year were:
February: CIM staff and Board of Directors (5 members)
June: Bethel Chinese Christian MB Church (Vancouver) (8 members)
July: Team Canada (9 members from Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto)

The February trip by CIM leadership was to visit all our church plants and village school sites to assess their needs and progress. The June trip with Bethel Chinese Christian MB Church was mainly to help with our church plants in Salaga and Yeji. This was accomplished through visitations, sharing the gospel through testimonies, skits, and sermons (etc.), and encouraging local pastors. The purpose of the July team was to visit our 3 village schools in Yeji, Subrini, and Mwonbura to train the local teachers. This team also had the privilege to run two outreach, evangelistic soccer tournaments in Yeji and Bimbilla where a number of people came to know the Lord.

The STM teams of 2014 not only had a positive influence in the areas they ministered in, but many have grown in their walk with the Lord as they see how great and powerful God is. For a number of the STMers, going to Ghana was the first time they left the comfort zone of their own church, and saw God work on a global scale. A large number of the STMers shared their interest to go back to Ghana or other mission fields. For others it was a confirmation of their calling into the ministry or to the mission field.

As 2015 begins, I am traveling to Ghana again this month with some fellow staff and board members. We will visit the church plants and village schools that CIM supports, encourage the church planters, as well as meet with the leadership of ECG. Please do pray for us as we will be doing a lot of travelling over a two week period.

We know that God will continue to bless our ministries in 2015. I encourage all of us to serve the Lord wholeheartedly in whatever circumstance that we are in and if you feel called to go to Ghana or want to know more about CIM’s mission in Ghana, please do not hesitate to email me at

Thank you for your continued support.

Rev. Isaac Quan (Associate Executive Director)
